With free, 24-hour access to Jim Davis' cartoon cat here at GoComics, it's easy to take Garfield's wider merchandising impact for granted. If we didn' thave photographic evidence proving otherwise, many of us would be hard-pressed to believe that prior to June 19, 1978, a world without the lasagna-loving feline even existed. Of course, that could just be a ruling-class myth -- because as we've seen, Garfield permeates the multiverse.

Twitter account @ebaygarfields is a powerful reminder of just how many cookie jars, plushies, fast food premiums, video games, pieces of apparel, toilet seat covers and a billion other commercial curiosities bear the whiskered mark of John Arbuckle's lazy pet (officially licensed or... otherwise).

Posting about half a dozen times per day since February, the account delivers on its title by posting images of Garfield merch discovered on eBay. The account just posts images -- no captions or links to the original products for purchase. There are exceptions for user-submitted content that the account retweets, but otherwise it's better this way. Who wants to be interrupted as they virtually browse a curated portion of most sprawling flea market/garage sale/roadside antique mall in the cosmos?

Here's just a taste of what the account has to offer:
