Ethel is a jerk

Some prescient person mentioned about Adam@Home last week!

Don’t worry Ethel. He will finish his shift and go home like everyone else does. So he will still be Adam@Home sometimes.

And now we have fourth-wall male-bashing. Sheesh!

4th wall, maybe even 5th wall

But he is making himself at home.

Coffee is in his blood. This IS home for Adam. Or at least his second home.

Does Adam think that Ethel is seeking a high elected office? The only reference I know to “warm spit” is the famous quote from one of Franklin Roosevelt’s vice-presidents, John Nance Garner, who allegedly said that the vice presidency was “not worth a bucket of warm spit.”

She seems a lot like Fancy…maybe a secret identity?

Oooh nice breaking of the 4th wall.

The 4th wall gets a hot cup of coffee thrown through it.

How thoughtful, he’s having the spit warmed up for her.

Make sure you dump all of the grinds into her cup.

In this strip the server doesn’t secretly spit in the coffee, he announces it and offers it up in a cup.

He should give her a custom mug with his picture on it. :) :) :)

Then she would have to look at that mug every morning.

LOL. I watched a funny show recently where the fellow’s mother sent back her food three times and before the last time she told the waiter that her son’s food had now gotten cold and they should heat it up. He looked at the waiter and said “can you only spit in her food please?”

Getting a little close to that fourth wall, are we, Ethel?

Wait, Adam knows how to operate a register and can drive himself to work?

Starbucks is just down the street…..

What “breaking the fourth wall”…there is no such thing happening here at all. Ethel is not addressing the reader. She’s still talking to Adam.

She’s breaking “the third wall”, according to the definition of different walls in fiction such as comics, film, or threater.

According to the definition of the third wall: the character is talking about the fictional entity: such as the play, or the comics strip, or the film, to another character within that entity.

That’s what Ethel is doing: she’s reminding Adam about the title of the strip in which he is the main character.
