In 1957 we saved up to go to California to go to Disneyland. I still remember my Dad paying $5.00 for a burger that could be bought for 35 cents at home. You paid for everything. As a kid I enjoyed Knotts Berry farm better. When Six flags opened in Arlington Tex. We were amazed all rides and shows for one price
I remember Hershey Park in Pennsylvania back in the 50s. Lots of rides and games many were just a penny. The factory tours were just awesome!! Then there was Ocean City Maryland…..great boardwalk with good food and those great pinball arcades. Went to DisneyWorld in Florida 1973 while Epcot was still under construction. Kid brother 8 years old loved it…21 year old Vietnam combat veteran….not so much… but little brother made it okay.

Oh Mickey what a pity you don’t understand
I simply can’t afford to take my kids to Disneyland
You pay to park the car and you pay to get inside
You pay for all the food and you pay to take a ride
It’s mice like you Mickey
I’m not a fool Mickey, fool Mickey
Won’t pay your prices Mickey
Oh Mickey!

Disney priced themselves out of the market years ago. But I guess that’s capitalistic crowd control for you.

Disneyland’s would be a good place to lose Ian.
