Ah yes! Stephen King the Nostradamus of the 21st century. From cars and pets to pandemics and politicians. He really is a Genre in his own right. Should have known he’d be Tabby’s favorite. I remember when we used to read books. The printed word it’s all we had then. A time when you had to choose your words carefully.
While I have a kindle, I’m still a big, huge fan of the actual printed word. I’m actually reading one book and have two others waiting to be read. I also have three more in my Amazon cart!
From a race to raise all people up through education for the masses during the age of enlightenment resulting in landing humans on the moon to a race to dumb down education for the masses creating a nation whereby nearly half of America is fundamentally illiterate and anti-education who wanted a career criminal and convicted felon/adjudicated rapist to be their President. Look how far we have come. It’s a wonder any bookstores still exist today. It is also no wonder at all that tech companies want to bring in H-1b immigrants from countries with much higher education standards than we have to work for them.
What I really love about this particular comic is that there are three separate dialog streams to wade through, each on a completely different track. This is fast becoming my favorite strip!!

Apparently, the user interface is too difficult for some people.

I remember we had two bookstores in the local Mall. Then we only had one. Now we have no Mall.

I love to read actual books, trying to read on a Kindle hurts my eyes. I do listen to audio books when I go to bed.

Carl Hiaasen is another great and prolific author, with Tom Robbins as another of my go-tos.

I read my first King book last year. It was a crime story—serial killer— not horror. He turned out to be a decent writer.

Looking forward to where this takes us. I don’t live near that last mega chain now. We have an independent, I should visit more often.
