I agree with Agnes, he could write good songs, but as for singing them no thanks.

Agnes seems like she would be a good singer, she should give that a try. Or if singing isn’t her thing, ask Grandma to buy her a set of drums.

I have never liked Bob Dylan.

And I’ve tried.

I like Bob Dylan, he is an incredible songwriter, but Agnes is right—he doesn’t sing, he whines.

I went to a Dylan concert around 2008 with a friend who was a huge Dylan fan and seen him perform many times before. Dylan’s voice was shot, the songs were re-arranged to the point of being unrecognizable, with zero stage presence while hiding behind the keyboard at the side of the stage. After that my friend swore off attending Dylan shows because he didn’t want to see his hero deteriorate any further.

Agnes nailed this one.. exactly my opinion as well, but she put it better.

Well Trout, I doubt that Dylan frequents the trailer park. And I’m pretty sure the dolphins don’t.

To be able to cite Knock ‘Em Dead Tony must be a true Dylan-phile like I am. People who complain about his voice don’t understand what Bob is and his genius.

Seems to me there is a Bowie reference there

Dolphins sing about thanks for all the fish. If Bob Dylan had more songs about fish, he would sound more like them.

What would a Dylan-singing dolphin sound like? The answer, my friend, is blowin’ with a fin.

I understand her first question but that second one is very sad at so many levels….

Agnes is so clever and creative. Her mind is always working.

(To my way of thinking, Dylan’s songs were best sing by Johnny Cash. But I may be prejudiced.)

Agnes is so right about singers who smoke too much. I have been a fan of the band Bon Jovi since they came out in 1984 and over time Jon Bon Jovi’s voice is being affected by his smoking, he hasn’t been able to hit the high notes in years and their last album that came out a couple of years ago his voice is starting to sound totally different and too raspy and I wasn’t happy with album and have only listened to it a couple of times.

They could be heroes! Just for one day.
