We’ve recently tried some recipes from the 90s and even those are showing their age.

You should see the Weight Watchers recipe cards/books from the 70’s. Gross

There’s a website (Mid Century Menu) that used to try recipes from the 50s. I remember they had a chocolate cake made using a can of tomato soup.

Low fat, but truckloads of sugar. No doubt an influence from the static electricity from all that polyester clothing. (Orange clothing. And not the safety vest kind.)

You don’t really need cookbooks anymore. You can just look up all your favorite recipes online and print them all out.

I doubled the amount of chocolate and halved the amount of sugar in my mom’s brownie recipe. She got her recipe from her mom and she had doubled the chocolate and halved the sugar in that recipe Gramms’s recipe was from the late 1800s early 1900s.

Anything ‘healthy’ was dry and tasteless. Everything tasty was loaded with all the stuff that’s bad for you.

My mother considered opening a can of Chef Boyardee to be cooking. She didn’t need no stinkin’ books.

I heard that drugs were big in the 70’s. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but it does explain so much.
