Hm… I didn’t imagines the height difference that big until now. Standing high on her toes her scalp’s still under his nose – that adds up to at least a full foot less than him.

In Puritan England, having sex standing up used to be banned, in case it led to dancing.

Granny, if she’d only known, would have warned her about a lot more. Wouldn’t have mattered. She ended up doing them all, doing most of them very well indeed.

My grandmother thought that dancing was evil. My aunt danced anyway. My father thought that my brother and I should learn how to dance and took us to dancing classes. My husband did not dance and so I forgot how. My grandmother would say that I should never have learned.

Sure, if you are good at dancing. For myself, I quit dancing with dates because I got tired of embarassing them and I did usually want to talk to them again.

Had you been as clumsy as I am, the warning would have been extremely reasonable.

This is why square dancing was invented.

I grew up in a church that banned dancing of any kind, among many other things.

Fond memory from high school. A girl who was a friend – we never dated – but at dances those we might be dating knew that Kay and I always danced select slow dances together (Sleep Walk, by Santo and Johnny for one). She could melt the buttons on your shirt and fuse your belt buckle.
