    Careful Arlo. You can’t argue with Feminine logic.

    Arlo, tell Janis just to save one of those (many) empty moving boxes to pack the moon in so y’all can take it with you when you move. (That’s as sensible as anything else!)

    Janis does have a point. The moon does in fact change its appearance as you move in latitude. (In the Southern Hemisphere it appears “upside down” relative to its appearance in the North.)

    As you make your move folks you can think of what Cat Stevens sang;

    Oh, I’m bein’ followed by a moonshadow, moon shadow, moonshadow

    Leapin and hoppin’ on a moonshadow, moonshadow, moonshadow

    OR

    Andy Williams;

    Moon river, wider than a mile

    I’m crossing you in style some day

    Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker

    Wherever you’re goin’, I’m goin’ your way

    When it’s midnight down in Mobile

    Moonbeams on the bay

    They come from miles around to dance the jukebox down

    And dig the good time sounds they play

    All across the harbour

    Night lights shinin’ in

    It looks just like stars on the water

    Just like stars on the water

    Just like stars on the water, let it rain

    I like the lighting that JJ used for today’s strip. How the full moon illuminates from the front

    Janis is right! There moon is where they will continue to be. There will be no move.

    My take was that “our moon” is because at present they have just each other (we don’t see other people local to them in the strip). If they move, it will be “our plus Gene and family moon”. There’s a different feel.

    We all have things we miss when we move. But that’s part of the adventure, having new experiences and making them your own.

    And on the east coast it tilts right and on the west coast it tilts left. That’s why all the left wing moon struck loonies live in California !!

    But it will become your moon.We just moved from the Texas coast with full moon rivers over the bay to the Valley of the Moon, and just had our first full moon. It wasn’t the same, but it was beautiful, and now it’s ours.

    over the years I’ve lived in very nice places that I would never have imagined I’d be. Each place holds dear memories. I always think that I am a caretaker or steward of a place, even when we bought property. Those trees I planted are my trees, those woods we left standing, my woods, those flowers along the property line are my fence jewels,,,, but now they are someone else’s. I hope they love them as much as I did.

    I live in a National Forest, we love to sit on the deck at night and watch the moon, stars and the Milky Way. My forever home.

    Husband keeps talking about selling the house and moving. I really DO NOT want to do so. We were both born on this Island and I plan on staying here permanently.

    In our early years he planned to retire to Lancaster, PA – last 20-25 years to Williamsburg, VA. In addition to not wanting to move (mom is 94, but rest of family is here too), I look around the house and cannot imagine dealing with everything that we have and would want to take all of it with us – garage is his woodshop, part of the basement is his leather working shop, room behind the kitchen is our general craft studio, living room is his “loom room” (from mid January to mid December – I get one month to decorate for Christmas), the smallest bedroom is my teddy bear room – plus there is a teddy bear figurine village in the hall, all our reenactment stuff, library of books spread over office, studio, bedroom and basement, movie collection – film, Beta, VHS, and DVDs and so on. Also there is a lot of furniture we would be taking with us – including pieces made by him.
