Later in life, I came to the conclusion that my mother was mentally ill, and it explained so much. Dealing with her definitely built a lot of character in me.
Lost both parents 6 months apart in 1990. Never smoked or drank & led a healthy style life on a farm in NY the last half of their lives. Mother Ovarian cancer at 70, & dad bladder cancer at 73. I am 77 & feel like I am living bonus years compared to them.
