At first I was going to retire at 65, then 70. I’m still not getting it. I’ll keep going as long as I have “gas in the tank.”

I think the secret is not accepting a job based solely on money. Of course, salary and benefits are important, but quality of life (like not having to commute two hours, liking the work, liking your coworkers) makes work less of a chore.

I am fortunate enough to work in a profession that pays well. However, I could have made even more money if I made sacrifices I was not willing to accept.

This is one lesson I learned from the Bible, “What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul.” You can be an atheist and get that one.

Man, I wish I was 40 again. I retired the first time at 41, started a new career and now am pretty much retired again. 68 tomorrow.

Retired 2 yrs ago at 67. Time was right, and my patience for today’s business practices in that arena have waned. So step aside and let s9meone else deal with it. One of best decisions ever for me and fam.

Oh Aunty, I retired early. I am busier now than I was when I was working. The only good thing is I can choose what keeps me busy. Today it is volunteering at a local hospital.
