I dont leave for work until I’ve loved on each of the 5 cats, even if I have to hunt one down

Then my wife and grandkid, I usually don’t have to hunt for them

We not only do that, but my wife leaves the TV on. We have to be careful when we leave for church on Sunday. That’s when the local station switches to a preacher program. That would be considered animal cruelty.

We change the channel to something that makes more sense like Ancient Aliens. Our dog loves that program.

I leave the TV on for one of my dogs. Separation anxiety and all. Seems to work. And yes, I DO tell them (that are in at the time) that I will be right back. Just habit to address the household, especially when they ALL stare at me in clear offence/disgust, totally aghasted that I am actually NOT going into the Kitchen…

I tell her how long we’ll be gone, hold up 1-4 fingers, because she can count to four. (4 paws cleaned off after rain and baths). LOL ;-)

I tell my deaf dog I am going out and give her a treat. I have waited a little bit. She will take the treat, eat it, and go take a nap. I think it would be rude to sneak out of the house and not let the pets know.
