True. Fake people are an irritant.

You mean the hypocrites. And the phonies who are sweet to your face and badmouth you behind your back. Yeah, I’ve known plenty of them!

Ever since I read the Charles Dickens novel, ‘David Copperfield’, I compare such people to the fictional character Uriah Heep — an unctuous villain who has become a byword for a falsely humble (‘umble’) conniving hypocrite.

Nowadays, many people don’t even pretend to be nice.

Historically, that has been anyone associated with any of the thousands religious/superstitious groups out there. They have always attempted to ‘kill you with kindness.’

True.

Pretend to be nice? Like Elon Musk?

Watch out for the guy patting you on the back……..he mite be finding a place too stick a knife!!!!

..and that is why people stopped going to church. Have since discovered it wasn’t only our family that got wise..

Mean people disguised as nice who have zero insight into how mean they are, and who are dedicated to insisting their way of seeing things is the way.

You realize Aunty, that as a comic character, you are not a real person, but a fake?

You should recognize them as kindred spirits.

It is a good thing that as I got older my circle of friends got smaller, hypocrites have been buried so deep in the past I can’t see them in my rear-view mirror.

and people that pick and choose who they’ll be nice to, instead of appreciating that we’re all in this together….
