Actually, commercial ice cream is about 50% air. Homemade is much denser and flavors are more concentrated, richer.
They usually advertise you can make frozen yogurt with an ice cream maker. But I notice noone comments on having done that.
I see his point. My recipes for fudge and brownies (among other things) turn out products that are far superior to the store-bought stuff.
Except the homemade takes longer. Store bought is instant gratification.
I haven’t had homemade ice cream since I was a kid!
