Are they saving money? With Wren’s throwing arm, there is a potential athletic scholarship.

That’s us right now. Our older daughter is in her 2nd year of college (although 1/2 her tuition is through scholarship) & our younger daughter will be starting next fall (but she’ll probably get a scholarship, too, at the rate she’s going).

I went through this exact same thing with my three children, and had serious discussions about the value of a college degree. My first chose the Navy. My second chose a 2-year Associate’s Degree, and now owns her own business, and my 3rd is starting his second year at University majoring in Engineering. I think they all made wise choices

I remember that wonderful day when my wife and I were watching some show and she turned to me and said, “We need a bigger t.v.” I actually waited a couple of weeks to buy it so I would save money during the Super Bowl sales.

With the loans you will be paying for all the tuitions at the same time for many years.

My parents are letting me stay home while I work my own way through college. It might be taking me a bit longer, but it sure is a heck of a lot cheaper.

In 2018 the girls left for uni. December of that year we bought a ginormous screen TV. 80+ inches. Very nice.

I paid my way through college and Law School, by managing my work money, with my GI Bill and while working full time AND raising my family. I also paid back what student loans I needed in Grad School. A Big Screen TV at today’s cost is less than the expense for books and supplies for a year at most State Colleges. Spend some of that money on yourself now, you deserve it. The kids will do OK…..

The cost of a ginormous TV is just a drop in the bucket compared to a state university education these days, used to be a lot less, but then the states were putting in a lot more.

Mom is always right on kids for college, though current higher authority who states college should be free. What I seen not high ranking college but lower class college student’s who do not pay.

Hey Darrel, pre-enroll the kids in the School of Hard Knocks, boot them out the door at 18, and get a ginormous TV. Get one for your new boat too. Be sure to get a new sports car to drive to that boat.

    (Just kidding! Or am I?)

Who says they’ll even want to go to college? They may be more inclined to become the lifeblood of their communities by being plumbers, electricians, etc. In my opinion, more useful than a college degree in “Contemplating My Navel” or some other equally useful subject.
