And you never know when a good knuckleball will come in handy when dealing with Zoe.

Boredom is a big factor in motivation. Hammy and kids like him have too much energy to stay in the outfield for long

Not much action in right field.

Once the players have figured out that getting a walk is far easier than putting the ball in play Little League Baseball gets like that. Most of the action happens in the stands as the parents, who take the game far more importantly than their kids and way too much, get into fistfights.

There should be separate fields for the kids and the parents to play on at the same time.

IMAGINE THAT CONCEPT. They could even have like groups of parents who play against other groups. hmmm

Give it a couple days and the dandelions will be back with a vengeance; the clover will take a little longer.

His elbow is too young for pitching

I always enjoyed playing second base- it was “real estate” I could call my own. When they moved me to short stop I quit. Typical kid…I really enjoyed playing softball- just too stubborn for my own good.

Who needs mowers when you have outfielders?

My son always got stuck in right field when he played little league. He begged the coach to let him pitch because he had been practicing with me and he wasn’t bad. Finally, all the pitchers were unavailable late in a game they were losing, and they let him pitch. He came in and had two scoreless innings. He then became the #2 pitcher, sadly he lost interest after a couple more years.

Most reasonable request I’ve ever heard from Hammie.
