Good heavens, I wonder if those dead-black eyes in Panel 3 were deliberate…

    Genesis 3:6

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

I’ve often thought that myth was the equivalent of a modern parent leaving a soft drink bottle full of bleach in the middle of the playroom and telling their toddler “Now don’t touch.” I mean what was the point of the bloody Tree anyway if they were already expected to know the difference between ‘good’ (obeying) and ‘evil’ (snacking)?

Would Hart have done this same gag years later, after he became born-again? If so, perhaps differently. Of course, B.C. and the blonde woman aren’t the first or only humans, and the desolate landscape they live in is hardly Eden.

So, it appears the guy knows what’s coming, but will take the bite anyway? No denying fate.

History? More like mythology. Adam and Eve is one of the many creation myths invented by many different cultures to explain where we came from.

Somewhere out of the frame, the fat broad is whacking a serpent.
