This is quite baffling.

Golf is such a genteel sport.

It’s a poor workman who blames his tool-carrier.

Golf has always been a violent game.

Baffy = a lofted wood, equivalent to a five or seven wood.

Cleek = a long iron, a 2 or 3 iron.

Why not hit to the left or right of the tree? There doesn’t seem to be anything else around.

A mashie would work also.

You’re really up the cleek now….
