Ok, all the Chevron doctrine meant was that courts should defer to regulatory agencies’ interpretations of laws, since neither justices nor lawmakers have the expertise to decide on every issue, and for that reason laws are deliberately left with some vagueness. Now the court has rejected the Chevron doctrine and said that it is the only body authorized to interpret laws and any regulation that is challenged will be thrown out unless it conforms to the court’s interpretation.
My point is, all those laws still apply as well as any regulations until they are actually changed. I get that Barney is just a jerk who doesn’t know/care how things actually work, but I just like the sound of my own voice. Or typing.
