Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to remember the studants of Skool, who died valiantly in antbitious pursuit of knowledge. Their last lesson was a vital one, where they made the mistake of combining two vile substances.
That reminds me of what happened in my Chemistry Lab, a long time ago… A friend who’s experiment was taking far too long decide to dump about 30 or 40 ml into his experiment, instead of using an eye dropper, it put holes in the ceiling tiles, his shirt and made a big mess. Best part he was a fireman who worked with Chemical fires and had to take the class because of work. College was fun sometimes…
Many years ago, the Mr. Wizards of the chemistry class at my parochial school conducted an “experiment” that resulted in the release of mass quantities of chlorine gas into the school. After the evacuation, cleanup, and screaming were over, the boys said they previously did the same thing at home, but figured the results would be different if they did it in a “real” lab.I still have this nagging cough…
I thought that the bad spelling was part of the joke. Not a good part, just a part. I notice you had no problem with ‘skool’. Maybe the teacher is a vampire?
Let’s hope the vile results of vile A and vile B caused no violent or virulent results. Clearly, the typo (was it one?) went viral here among the readers of the strip. Perhaps it is vital to the viablility of any strip to occasionally gauge the vitality of the fan base, their virulency, their “vital juices” and how vitriolic they can become, or vituperative. venal, or just plain vexing.
Just to add another few memories… In my seventh grade chemistry class, we made a still. Everyone got to taste a drop as it came out. In another class, elemental mercury was spilled on the floor, and we chased the little liquid balls around to gather it back up.School was occasionally fun back then.
It’s VIAL, not VILE!! SKOOL is obviously a deliberate mistake, but VILE is obviously just poor spelling. VILE means nasty. A small glass container is a VIAL.
I’m pretty sure anything mixed with anything in the ant school lab is indeed vile. I am willing to bet that mixing any vile with another vile does cause a catastrophic event.
Some vile substance in tube A, and some vile substance in tube B.Either that, or whoever did the inking doesn’t know the difference.Of course, in “The Count of Monte Cristo” it’s spelled “phial” so who is correct?

Perhaps it was not a chemistry class. It might have been a class involving language use and so we might have had vile phrase A and vile phrase B.

I remember taking my eyebrows off by pouring carbon tetrachloride onto molten sulfur. Carbon tet will dissolve sulfur, but it’s also quite flammable.
