    I just saw a story about the Mona Lisa. A couple hundred years ago, it was considered to be a not-very-good, ho-hum painting. It was stolen and not even missed for quite a long period of time. The thief couldn’t find a buyer and returned it. All the media hullabaloo is what turned it into the famous piece of artwork if is today.

    I was just thinking that comic strips are artwork. Cartoonists sell their work to any who will buy it. Just like any other product.

    Some comic strips are very good. Some are bad or just meh. Same with other products. A good sales person can sell an inferior product while a far superior product languishes. So if a person can sell a banana nailed to the wall to people who will pay to see it, that’s just good sales ability.
