Question: how do you surf on a river without waves?

Funny thing about that this years Olympic surfing event was held in Tahiti (Paris Olympics) of all places. Couldn’t they have found any place closer?

I did not know river surfing was a thing, but apparently it is.

How does surfing on a river work if there’s no sail on the surfboard?

Surfing seems like an odd Olympic sport. It doesn’t seem fair- how can you judge the quality of different waves? One guy could get the perfect wave and the next a dud.

I’ve enjoyed watching the Olympic sailing events. About 1/2 the vessels they sail are now on foils, including kite boarding. I’d never seen them race before, and it’s amazing to see 10 to 20 racers flying para sails, zooming along at 25 kts, rounding marks, all flying over the water on foils.

They must have been passing by the woman’s beach volleyball court.

If this is the Sein, where are the floating chunks?

I watched some sailing yesterday. It’s not as exciting as watching golf
