If someone states saying “Merry Christmas” offends their religion, I reply “Your opposing my right to say it offends MY religion”. Shuts them up right away. It is NOT the average person who is offended, it is the leaders of those religions who are trying to get publicity.
Sending a card still means something to me. Emails, cell phones with emoji’s, phone calls just don’t do it. But then, my first Christmas was in 1935, and everyone after that was similar and wonderful, until the family and friends list shrank one by one. But cards are still my go to for those who remain and I take pleasure in writing and sending them one by one.
Some good things are just too important to just let fade into murky history, and friendship is one of the best.
As far as some people being offended by “Happy Holidays”, it seems to me that the second-most Christian thing a person could do is to wish happiness for a stranger. The first-most, of course, would be to CREATE happiness for him.
I always prefer cards that are blank inside, so I can insert my own words. But, the graphics are much better than anything I can create. No artist here.

With so many religions claiming this time of year as a holiday it’s a good choice.

Likewise for “X-mas”. As a Christian, I see the X as actually emphasizing the Cross, which is central to the Gospel.
