Yep, Nate’s past comes back to bite him. Poetic justice.

Mrs.Godfrey deserves to be yelled at.

I think she’s been watching Goodfellas too much.

I think my kid had Mrs. Godfrey in 1st grade.

I can understand why Nate hates school so much. He seems to be doomed to repeat 6th grade with Mrs. Godfrey every year. This strip reminds me of Groundhog Day.

I have to give Nate credit for trying and Mrs. Godfrey’s response does seem a bit harsh, but then, she and Nate have a long history, so you also can’t blame her for being suspicious.

I always thought being a comic strip character would be immortality, but Nate seems to end up in Mrs. Godfrey’s class year after year, as he grows no older.

I don’t know about Nate, but Mrs. Godfrey sure is amusing ME! She really has to get a life.

I believe Carl the janitor said it best when he said, “You took a teaching position, ‘cause you thought it’d be fun, right? Thought you could have summer vacations off…and then you found out it was actually work…and that really bummed you out.”

Standard plot device, folks – the constant antagonist of the strip’s ‘hero’. I do wonder how many of Lincoln Peirce’s former teachers are mashed up into the character of Mrs. Godfrey.

At least Nate was trying to respect her.

Sorry folks, Nate is wrong, Mrs Godfrey is right. It is NOT Nates place to be an adult, greeting Mrs. Gofrey as his equil with ill-disguised hostil cheerfulness. It is Nates place to be a child, respecting his teacher, to take his seat and to listen, follow instructions and LEARN, which he is very capable of if he only tried. He’d soon enough have Mrs Godfey charmed.

Poor Nate can’t win.

Isn’t it time he got promoted? I mean the same teacher year after year? I almost got my second grade teacher for sixth grade until another teacher came looking for me. Whew, that was close.

When you try to be bad, they punish you (duh). When you try to be good, they won’t let you.

I guess we now know why no man wants to date her.

I wonder if “it” has any feelings.

Mrs. Godfrey, seriously? If you are punishing a student for just laughing, then you should not even be a teacher. Everyone laughs. I laugh, you laugh, people here laugh…why are you punishing a student for the SAME DARN THING???
