Nate’s grown a spine. And a pair of something else. If Trudy doesn’t see the error of her ways, the ’ships over.

Yeah, they’re finished. It’s obvious they’re not going to get back together. Here’s what is most likely going to happen. Nate will soon regret his hasty decision to break up with Trudy. He’s gonna try and apologize, but when he does, she’ll already have a new 7th grade boyfriend. Nate will be like “crap”, realize he messed up and then everything will eventually go back to the status quo.

Nate having a girlfriend couldn’t last.

Besides we will probably have a strip tomorrow with both of them sitting at each their tables at lunch, either looking at each other – or Trudy looking after him.

In any case – If this is the end of Trudy – can only say thanks for a great character and arc from Lincoln Pierce.

But as said, I hope and don´t think it is her end yet. :p

Here comes the next girl for Nate. And the next. But I do hope Nate and Trudy get back together again.

Nate was doing great up till this point. He’s made his case, he’s explained himself, he should give her a chance to think about this and re-decide.

Way to go, Nate. Your friends deserve better than what she was giving them.

I agree with what people have already commented. It’s a Friday strip, so this isn’t over yet. There are a couple things that could happen:1) She could run after him later and kiss him like she did in October2) According to that guy at the party, “Everybody’s got the hots for Trudy.” Trudy could get a seventh-grade boyfriend, and mingle with people in her own grade, like she wants.3) They could take a break from each other for a while4) She’ll vanish off the face of the Earth. I highly doubt this one.5) She’ll try to stop him but he won’t listen. If this is the case, RIP Nate and Trudy. July 2015-March 2016

Nate is growing up. Good for him. Hopefully he won’t be all mopey that he doesn’t have a girlfriend. Then again, maybe this is Trudy’s first time being dumped and she grows up too. We may see them together again one day.

Trudy might come back; in “big nate flips out”, Nate and francis have a fight that they make up for. Right after they yell at each other in front of half the school, Francis walks off in this same manner, so she might come back. However, I doubt this and don’t want it to happen, either.

I’m glad to see that Nate took a stand for himself and what he needs in the relationship. Give her time to think about it now and see how she reacts. If she comes to the boys table great if not then you know what her priorities are. Personally I’d like to see him matched up with Gina, that has a lot of comedic potential.

Its a wiki – anyone can edit those, and as others have also stated even if Nate broke it off today, we still got tomorrow – and the rest of the future to see if they come back together at a later point.

Being older doesn’t necessarily mean you are wiser. Nate spoke up for himself. There are a lot of people who have a hard time being so assertive and honest. There may be a chance that Trudy will realize how right Nate is and try to make the effort to make amends.

It’s not over until it’s over; Trudy really likes Nate and she will find a way to make it work. Hang in there Trudy.

YES!!! FINALLY!!

Um, for heaven’s sake people, Nate is 11 years old! Crushes, girlfriends, break-ups, and hanging out with someone new are all par for the course at that age. “Going steady” can wait for another 4 or 5 years. As I see it, Nate has learned an important lesson from his brief relationship with Trudy – that someone who loves you doesn’t demand that you lose yourself and your friends to be in that relationship. Maybe Trudy learned that a relationship isn’t all about what she wants. Live and learn.

Compared to Kelly and Angie with Nate, Trudy had the shortest time period being Nate’s girlfriend if Abby Wilson going steady with Nate doesn’t count.

Am I the only one that thinks it’s weird how this comic about 11 yr olds focuses so much on boyfriends/girlfriends?
