Yeah why is it called “social studies”? It has nothing to do with improving social skills or something. THAT is so messed up!

When I was in school, history was history and social studies was about present-day social studies. Very different classes.

Yeah, I always wondered that!

Also, I don’t know a single thing about American history, mainly because I’m from Australia.

Can’t blame Nate for not wanting to talk about the war of 1812. Kind of hard to admit that Canada, invaded the American capital and set fire to the White House. In all fairness it was a fight to a draw and Canada gave back the conquered territory at the end of the war.

Isn’t it kinda weird how people are more interested in the comments than the comic?

It used to include Geography and Civics. Which they really should start teaching again, since it would be more useful than learning about the Habsburgs.

Personally, I think goes for broke is the best because of Detail and story over all. The bad new is it Introduced Dee Dee Holloway. One of the most annoying Big Nate Character.

Social Studies: How did what happened go on to influence other parts of society? (“The defendant was found guilty and was sentenced to 5 years in the state penitentiary.”)

And yes, I used to watch Dragnet all the time.
