If the woman really loved her cat, she wouldn’t have had her declawed. Declawing is a dangerous and painful process for cats, plus it can leave them in pain forever, altering their personalities. A good vet does not declaw cats. Some states have banned the procedure. I wish all would. (But even with that, I find this arc funny!)

I know Mr. Peirce isn’t a cat person at all, but still…wish he’d left out the reference to declawing.

I’m late, but like.. Declawing can be inhuman. Declawing is not the same as clipping a cat’s nails. The only reason you should remove them, for example, is if they had an infected wound, scratch, or one of the toes was unsavable. Fully declawing makes the cats tempered, upset because walking on kitty-litter can hurt them, would you take off your children’s nails because they kept scratching your stuff? It fully removes the nail. I study this because I want to become a vet, and I know a lot about the procedure.
