New headcanon just dropped: Nate has ADHD

Moving to a school district where teachers knew how to deal with fidgety (ADHD) kids was one of the best decisions we ever made. “Nate, go outside and walk around for five minutes,” is a much better solution than sending him to the Principal’s office.

I recommend taking six-second deep breaths, Nate.

I realize this is just a joke, but I genuinely feel bad for kids who get stuck with teachers like this who cause and worsen stress for their students

As someone with ADHD, it kind of insults me that Peirce keeps playing it off as ‘not how I intended it’ and ’it’s funny when Nate gets into trouble for it’. To me, if he wants to avoid it, don’t give Nate clearly neurodivergent characteristics? This strip is Nate stimming and getting into trouble for it!

Nate needs meds or the meds he has need adjustment.

I have ADHD and I had it before it was cool. I did all the things (though it was something smaller than a coke bottle that I hit against my head) Nate is doing in class to try to help me focus. She needs to let Nate have a fidget spinner or something similar.

I don’t think sending him to the principal’s office is going to fix anything.
