Remembering Randy Glasbergen
by GoComicsOur hearts are heavy this morning as we've learned of the passing of Randy Glasbergen, the mind behind Thin Lines and Glasbergen Cartoons.
As the featured cartoonist in a "Meet Your Creator" installment earlier this year, Randy opened up to us about his career and influences.
"I enjoy the excitement of freelancing, where every day has the potential to feel like Christmas morning. I never know what to expect when I hike up to my studio in the morning and start reading my e-mail. Much of my correspondence is fairly routine, but once in a while I get one that makes me smile and shout "÷Holy crap!'"
We, too, felt the excitement each and every day. While we never knew quite what to expect from Randy's work, it was always delivered with talent and brilliance, and his gags were guaranteed to be met with a laugh.
As a tribute to Randy, we wanted to share a few of his comics here today.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Randy's family, friends and loved ones. We will truly miss him.
