The Chinese people have probably never in history had anything approaching freedom. They have been bought off with shiny toys by this regime that has elevated their standard of living at a dizzying pace. The big problem is they mean to export their authoritarian system to the third world and beyond

Gorrell blew this one because the symbol for the Chinese protests chosen by those protesting is a white sheet of paper.

Is it me, or does this cartoon actually support Xi and his ‘strong man’ tactics? After all, Gorrell seems to prefer fascist dictators over leaders of the people for the people.
