That certainly describes Trump when he was in office. He and Desantis have both used their position to attack companies for not kowtowing to their agenda. Republicans have launched one public investigation after the other for the sole purpose of making them look bad. Trump vowed to change the laws so he could shut down the free press and has advocated for rounding up members of the opposition party and “lock them up”.
A very few of the governments which have imprisoned former heads of state in recent years: South Africa, Algeria, Egypt, Japan, South Korea, India, Taiwan/Republic of China, Israel, Greece, France, Italy, Georgia, Ukraine… It ain’t always under-developed nations or military regimes that put former leaders behind bars.
I’m confused. I thought the grand jury was made up of regular citizens, not politicians.
Methinks that thou doth protest too much: he’s indicted. The 30+ counts are not even known. He’s innocent until proven guilty. And if there is no there there, the charges will be dropped, or he’ll be acquitted. Maybe he’ll cut a deal (there’s plenty of precedent for that)?
Will this be the right’s response to ALL of the other pending cases? (That was rhetorical)
Hey Bob, take a look at some of the red-state gerrymandering if you really want to talk destroying opponents; Wisconsin comes to mind. And yes, I know some blue states gerrymander; but what WI did is unconscionable. Holy Cow!
Gorrell – you’re a few years too late with this one. Let’s recall these banana republic infractions:1. Firing of FBI Director James Comey: In May 2017, President Trump fired James Comey, the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), who was leading an investigation into the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russia during the 2016 presidential election.2. Revoking security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan: In August 2018, President Trump revoked the security clearance of former CIA Director John Brennan, who had been a vocal critic of the President. This move was widely criticized as an attempt to retaliate against Brennan for his criticisms of the administration.3. Attempting to pressure Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden: In July 2019, President Trump requested that the President of Ukraine investigate Joe Biden, his political opponent in the upcoming 2020 election. This move ultimately led to his impeachment by the House of Representatives.4. Firing of US Attorney General Geoffrey Berman: In June 2020, President Trump fired Geoffrey Berman, the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, who was investigating Trump’s associates and campaign contributions. The move was seen as an attempt to interfere with ongoing investigations.5. Using executive orders to implement policy changes: Throughout his presidency, President Trump used executive orders to implement policy changes without the need for congressional approval. These orders were often criticized by his opponents as an abuse of executive power and an attempt to bypass the legislative process.
So Gorrell continually tells us the president is incompetent, American cities are being burned to the ground and residents can’t leave their homes without being shot or robbed, his readers are encouraged to believe they’re one stray “politically incorrect” word away from being “canceled” by “woke mobs,” he constantly tells lies about Antifa, Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ activists painting a profoundly delusional picture of an America taken over by criminals and degenerates, schools are “grooming” kids for sexual abuse, and America is a banana republic hellhole.
But America is the bestest country in the whole world.

Like GYM Jordan is trying to do. Like Donald Trump tried to do. You might want to point that thing in some other direction.

Mr. Gorrell, as usual, ignores the fact that Trump’s entire 2024 platform is based on revenge against real and imaginary enemies.
