Boot rolls on ground laughing, Jules misses Angus….how touching. I wonder if Jules is going to say hi to Baba Mouse before he goes to wherever July bugs go.
Let’s hope Magnet never sees the footage. The Mice have enough troubles, what with the local Bears agitating against them… (Well, local to the talkboard)
You have to love panel 3 with Jules honoring his old friend Angus. Well 2 days left in July so there is still time for Jules to make another appearance but will it be at the big pink house or will it be a quick hello to Baba Mouse or perhaps both???
He’s off to ride Five Weeks In A Balloon, From The Earth To The Moon, he says bye bye to the cats and the raccoons.
He’s off to travel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea, until he reaches The Ligthouse At The End Of The Earth.
He’s off to The Mysterious Island, and then to The Floating City, Vacationing in The Steam House and doing Eight Thousand Leagues On The Amazon, until he reaches The Fur Country.
He’s off to Purchase The North Pole and then he’ll be Off To Solve An Antarctic Mystery.
A mystery himself, he is; Jules, the July Bug, what an August personality he is.
Gee, it’s still early morning for me and I’ve already cleaned up two horkages – one discovered while stumbling to the kitchen for my first cup of coffee via the Barefoot Method of Detection.
I loved this storyline and the chance to get better acquainted with all these critters. So fare thee well, Angus, and till we meet again, Jules, I bid you adieu.
P.S., Georgia, perhaps the tales of Clover in the future and, of course, more Hedgehog News.
Thomios: Alright, everyone. Today we’re going to make 30 minute mozzarella. Ready? (You can find the recipe at cheesemaking.com)
Participant Sekhmet: How long does it take to make 30 minute mozzarella?
Thomios: About a half hour, give or take. I’ve already prepared a mozzarella as an example.
Thirty minutes later, approximately
Thomios: You’ve all done very well. And now I notice my sample is gone!
Ta-Natash: Are we ready for my segment of the class?
Thomios: We sure are. Class, now for our next segment: cheese taking. Take it away, Tash!
Tash: Thanks, Tommy. The first thing to remember is that you want to be able to lift the cheese you want to take. If it is an especially heavy piece, make sure you have help.
Participant Pakhet: Should we wear masks?
Tash: Masks are optional as disguises. It is always wise to wear protective gear, however. Now, in a crowded area you should choose a time when people are not paying attention to the cheese. You may have noticed Alice-Ata and Agnes-Ata have just taken my sample cheese.
Participant Pakhet: What do we do now?
Tash: While we were discussing cheese, you may have noticed Thomios sneaking in with pizza. Enjoy!
Fun bit of trivia: after I noted the similarity some time back, Georgia confirmed that Angus is at least partially modeled after Art Lake, who was the meteorologist for the NBC affiliate in Providence for nearly 60 years, many of them during the early-morning newscast. (Puck and Lupin seem to share some character traits with Art’s broadcast partner, Frank Coletta, who is also the inspiration for the ever-present coffee mugs on the BCN anchor desk.)
The ending reminds me of a chapter in “The Wind in the Willows” titled, I believe, “At the Gates of Dawn” that always makes me tear up for some reason. Well done, Ms. Dunne!
The vile raccoon princess has been thwarted. If she sees these tapes now that she’s the vile raccoon queen, she’ll start a war with the Robber Mice and demand they turn the golden mouse over to her to be prosecuted in vile raccoon court. Just like Wicket tried years ago. Only Tillie could do so, and she ain’t gonna do so.

Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men: One Sweet Day
Angus, I miss you dearly
Tomorrows become yesterdays
And now the time has come, clearly
Now I must fly, so far away
…….
(Angus) I’m always right here in spirit
Think of me and try to smile
Feeling and knowing you hear me
Keeps the memories alive, alive
…….
And I know you’re shining down on me from Heaven
Like so many friends like Till and Lady Jane
And I know eventually I’ll see you (Oh, no, I know)
One sweet day
(And thanks to the pen of Ms Georgia Dunn)

What would you think if a Bug named for June
Had a Mouse up and set him free?
Smile happy tears as we sing them a song
Of escape that ends so magic’ly
Oh he gets by with a little help from his friends
Mm he gets high with a little help from his friends
He’s gonna fly each July without end
