We have similar conversations regarding my new characters. “You’re playing a rogue, right, Nyx?” Though I don’t ALWAYS play one; sometimes it’s fun to go for fighter or cleric and enjoy actually having armor. To each their own!
What are the rest of them playing? Lupin is a chaos something. I don’t know. Barbarian? Puck is so gentle I don’t know what he’ll be. He likes climbing so he’ll be an Acrobat! I guess they can all be thieves, too. I dunno.
Careful Elvis, Wearing purple symbolizes affluence royalty, grandeur, independence, wisdom, devotion, extravagance, and imagination. However, purple can also symbolize arrogance. Be not prideful.
I did not expect Violet as the DM, but she should provide an interesting story. I also did not expect Elvis to be the wizard given Puck’s love of Gandalf. I love the assortment of dice in front of them.
“I have ALWAYS played a wizard. I WILL ALWAYS play a wizard” sounds like one of my friends. He’s not quite so explicit about it, though, and has played the occasional sorcerer or warlock.
On some devices you may have to download the link to play this 10 second video of Ulua on the pier and interacting with a couple of tourists. His blasé reaction to their praise is perfect. They are under the mistaken assumption that he is my cat. I noticed this on several occasions. He has such a strong sense of “belonging” wherever he is. I would find him surrounded by several people (and their dogs), each assuming he must belong to someone else in the group.
He is friendly but you only get five seconds of “friendly”, if he doesn’t know you. Enjoy!
I have never played D&D, though my son has; but I do play video games (that, too, is my son’s doing) and I love open world fantasy role-playing games. I’m like Elvis. I always play a magic user and if available I will always be an elf. But, we magic users are not all old cranks, Elvis and Gandalf notwithstanding. I’m more of the Galadriel school, wise and beautiful and very, very, don’t-mess-with-me powerful.
Folks complaining ageism…?! Seriously?! We had “Chainmail” The guide to miniatures on sand tables in 1972, and the 1st three (paperback) rule books; Men & Magic, Monsters & Treasure, Underworld & Wilderness [now $700 on ebay for the 6th edition].So our 1st party (a miserable failure on our part) was played in 1974. Which means (ACK!) that I have been playing 48 years. Game has roots.
I never played D&D or any similar games. I feel like I’m missing a bit of the humor of the strip (although I can’t stop laughing at the Dragons = Vacuums correlation) and certainly the comments, but I sure am enjoying the drawings. (I want that purple wizard outfit for myself.) And any time the Robber Mice, even half of them, are here, I’m ecstatic.

I hear great things about the Japanese PS-5 video game Stray coming out soon. It’s based on the adventures of — wait for it — a stray cat in an urban setting. The clips I’ve seen have wonderful animation.

It was perhaps a bit presumptuous to ask Elvis if he needed help.

Mock if you must, but if, when the crunch comes, you haven’t got a wizard handy, you are probably doomed. Ask Arthur or Frodo.

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile presents to you the Bee Musical Xanadu
Queen Hera: Titania, you have successfully completed Queen Bee School. You are now ready to establish your own hive.
Titania: It’s an honor, Your Majesty. It has been my dream to re-establish the legendary Lost Hive of Xanadu.
Queen Hera: That is a noble endeavor. And I suggest you start your search in the area of the Great Pyramid that no one knows what to do with.
Near the Great Pyramid
Titania: Here is the Great Pyramid. Whom do I have the pleasure of addressing?
Addressee: Hello. I am Hilary from Afar. I’m here to make major renovations to the Great Pyramid. What brings you here?
Titania: I’m Titania, a new Queen Bee. I’m looking to re-establish the Lost Hive of Xanadu.
Hilary: Then I believe I can help. There is evidence of a hive near a grove of wild flowers. I can show you where.
Sometime Later
Titania: Thank you! Oh, I can see where the hive was from here! I’ve arrived!
ELO: I’m Alive
Titania: I’ve Arrived!
And the future is here today!
I’ve Arrived!
Now it’s all coming clear today!
My reign as Queen begins (take a bow)!
A new legend begins (here and now)!
A new honey comb!
I’ve arrived, I’ve arrived!
…….
I’ve arrived!
A new era begins today!
I’ve arrived!
And my dreams all will win today!
No longer need to roam (very clear)!
A brand new honey comb (starts right here)!
And now it is time!
I’ve arrived, I’ve arrived!
Titania: Now I have to hire a worker crew.
