Poofy Elvis and puck
Sigh. Of course that’s Lupin’s reaction.
Anything’s got to be better than the plastic Halloween spider.
I know it’s not real . . . but when I see it out of the corner of my eye . . . GAH!
Me thinks the boy is doing that on purpose to scare the cats. Somebody needs to sit him down and explain the difference between play and torture.
I’m with Elvis on this. Nope. Nope, nope, nope.
Poof positive that it is just a toy.
Lupin to the rescue!! Get that spider!
Ya just gotta love a velvet and faux fluff spider with googly eyes and a bow tie.
Ot: Sunday Funday.
All spiders are real until proven eaten.
At least it’s not one of those dang remote control tarantulas. Those things creep me out. And The Boy needs a good talking to about upsetting his friends, the cats.
I remember the "Let’s Partaaay " real spider that was a character a couple years ago. He was a BIG spider who was really funny. The cats were not afraid of him, ( I think), but the woman said he had to go, trapped him under a glass and put him outside. He was back inside in about 2 seconds.
Lupin is thinking about eight drumsticks. I think he has a leg up on the issue…
It’s a temporary threat, and will be neutralised by Lupin. As we would expect in this best of all possible worlds.
Now, if someone shows up with a fake cucumber….
To be fair, that’s also my reaction to fake spiders.
She was faux fluff and velvet
Falser than velvet was the googly eyes
Louder than sat#n were the cries
From the cats
And did I mention the bow tie?
Delighted I made a tender sigh
Joy was ours
Ours the joy I felt rightly
Feeling the rampage grow
Like a flame burning brightly
But when they left, behind was the glow of
But in my heart there’ll always be
Precious and warm, a memory
Through the cheers
And I still can see two toebeans
Through my laughter tears…
(Blue Velvet / Bobby Vinton)
At least it’s not a cucumber or zucchini. Those things are terrifying.
I love Lupin’s resolve! If any cat could eat it, Lupin can. ;D
So much loveliness here, the floof, Lupin’s fresh pink toebeans and the cute spider.
Get it, Lupin!
All spiders in my house get trapped under a clear condiment cup with a huge paint chip card underneath and then the whole thing goes out the door to be retrieved later. I figure their little lives mean as much to them as mine does to me. I’m still looking for the nickel sized black one that ran across my arm last week though while I was sitting in my chair! Scared the cr** out of me because I didn’t expect it. He must live in said chair. He’ll go out too if I can get him, but I haven’t seen him since. And Loaner Cat is no help whatsoever. She just watches them all toddle across the floor or wherever like they belong here and she’s just a witness, not a stalker. *sigh
And of course Lupin wants to attack it.
OT: Dawn McCandless
OT: cool place
Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Arachna: Time to meet with the Spider Ladies’ Web Weaving Circle.
Thomios: And I need to plan for making candy. I’m glad Titania and the Xanadu bees are here.
Puckmosis: Hello everyone, watcha doing?
Thomios: We’re getting ready for fall.
Enter Tillie and Sophititi
Tillie: The Feast of Candy will be here before you know it.
Soph: And we’re getting everything ready. How do you like these decorations?
Puckmosis: They look like me!
Tillie: I know Elvis thinks the flying Pucks are a bit much.
Puckmosis: I don’t know what to say.
All: Happy Puck Season!
I’m with Elvis and Puck!! Run away, run away!
It needs six more googly eyes.
And a bow tie that spins (because, why not?)
Picks up newspaper and SPLAAT! SPLAAT! SPLAAAAAT!
GAAH! Why it not dies? Darngnabbit spider immortal!
Well whadya knows. Ya comes to a web site to see comics and there’s a spider.
With great paw-er comes great websponsibility, Lupin.
OT – Starlord.
why has nobody done this- =SQUEEEEEEE= Toebeans!
In which the cats are me
I am fine with spiders outside. They weave wonderful webs especially when seen early morning glistening with dew. But inside, nope.
I hvae not known cats to fear spiders. Humans on the other hand. Is that transferance or something?
I know the Haloween candy is already in the stores….
It’s on a string, so it appears the Boy is doing this on purpose. For shame! That does make it a good challenge for Lupin, though.
Ooooo. Gotta do a cucumber !
Brave Lupin is here to save the day!!
I do believe the one cat should get the fake Spider
Well … at least sn_tch it off its string. :)
We have multiple poofs!
Spider legs? If only someone could write a jingle about those….
I bet his name is -
BORIS The SPIDER
Creepy, Crawly, Creepy, Crawly!
A good deal of fluffiness.
I do believe that is the BIGGEST poofy tail that Elvis has ever had. As well as poor little Puck. Though I do feel for the spider once Lupin gets a hold of it…..(the fangs!!!!!!!!!!)
I have a spider cat toy with yarn legs and the cats love it. It used to hang from a door frame until the string was shredded. Now it hangs from a door knob. It still gets whacked about every so often. No fraidy cats in my house.
My cats are hunters, I think they would attack such a thing. My 65 lb. dog on the other hand…
Get ’em, Lupin, oh mighty hunter!
and that is why most small bug or mouse shaped cat toys are brightly colored. I foolishly bought some “mouse” toys that were all darkly colored… and I NEVER had so many " ::shriek:: OMG what is THAT!!! How did that get in the house! " moments anytime I caught sight of one. After that – only brightly colored cat toys allowed in my house.
I had a kitty who loved eating spiders. Must taste good!
Who are these viewers?
It’s the bowties that make spiders terrifying, not to mention the hissing and drooling. Brrrrrrrrrr!
Lupin to the rescue.
We used to get jumpers the size of quarters in our house. You could actually hear them scurry across the wood floor. One day our cat scored a hit mid jump and sent the thing half way across the room.
Good Boy, Lupin. At least YOU understand proper cat/spider protocols!
No child of mine will ever have a toy spider. (Although the zoom-in is kinda cute, except for too many legs)
Came across this “spidery treat” the other day…
The fuzzy spider was my cats’ favorite toy!
I’m a bit late in catching up to the most current day’s comic. Our Maxine has a specific and peculiar call when she has caught Prey. Now this can be living prey or something that takes the place of prey (toy mouse or other toy). I always praise her for the mighty huntress that she is no matter the life quality of her prey.
Just tonight, she brought in a big “Palmetto Bug”, reddish brown and quite alive! She turned it loose, twice! in the kitchen and caught it again, while 4 month old Brave Heart (from the newest litter of feral kittens from Roberta, a likely 2 year old kitten from Mum’Zee) watched with rapt attention.
(Roberta, her sister Harriette, and their total 7 kittens were all born bob-tails. We’re still trying to get the baby-mommas caught and fixed.)
Then Maxine turned her bug loose the third time but didn’t pounce on it again. Maybe she expected Brave Heart to do the honors? Anyway, the thing crawled straight towards me! I stolmped it good!
Brave Heart moved in to inspect the result and so did Maxine. They did nose touchings and examinations of the “corpse” but when Max lay down to pick it up from an upside down position, I saw that the roach Wasn’t Dead!
ya, a stolmped that bad boy again and rolled the mess into a paper towel and dumped it, without ceremony, into the trash.
I saw betrayal on Maxine’s face and wonder from Brave Heart as I disposed of the vermin. still shuddering 4 to 5 hours later that I got THAT close!
Such are the adventures with “gentled” and feral cats/kittens in the house!
