I was thinking the same thing. I got some for my girls and we play bubble trouble all the time. Sara only likes it until one burst on her. then she gives the stink face and runs away. Gracie is a bubble killer though.
I am certain that the inspiration for this strip was a story that Georgia heard and in no way involves her own household. (Because Puck, of course, never gets into trouble of any kind!)

Sophititi: Thank you, Serfig. Ladies and Gentlecats, here is my performance art sculpture entitled: To Our New Friends:
It was a dark and stormy night.
Suddenly a ship appeared on the horizon. The ship was rocking back and forth, and in immediate danger of sinking!
Fortunately, Young Ignatius Shipwright was aboard. He came from a long family of shipbuilders. When a repair was needed, Iggy was there (Presents tools, courtesy of Burt-Ra and Crew). It was through his brave efforts the ship was kept afloat. (Sail cloth, courtesy Adobe Style.)
But alas, a mighty wave splashed on the deck of the ship! Iggy was washed overboard! Only a piece of a dinghy prevented Iggy from being lost at sea! (Oar, courtesy of Iron Glove).
Finally, Iggy made it to our shores! He was able to weigh anchor (Presents 1.5 kilo replica, also courtesy of Iron Glove.
But how could he find help? Here he was, a stranger in a strange land! Until a small tortoise shell cat came bounding up to him!
“I know where there’s a shelter from the sun,” the cat told him, “It’s not the greatest pyramid, but it’ll do.”
There they found a room with the greatest of treasures! Scrolls with stories from long ago and far away! There was a room filled with tables! and on the right, a litter room!
For those of you who use the Vietnamese calendar, we have just entered the Year of the Cat. Of course, our furry overlords think every year is the year of the cat.
Years ago, Marie and I lived a few doors down from a woman who was single and had two children. One child was born profoundly autistic. In the summer months, she would put a small kiddie pool on the driveway and set her son in it. She had a professional bubble-making machine that she would turn on and direct over the child. It was the only time I would see the child smile and try to interact with the bubbles. The mom would sit nearby and enjoy a brief moment of calm.
The bubbles in the nursery reminded me of that time.
I will never know how that woman could give her special needs child the 24-hour care he needed, provide a supportive environment for the other child and keep a roof over their heads. In our society, the term miracle is overused. However, how that woman was able to accomplish what she did, was a miracle.
When it comes to whimsical anarchy, I would much prefer a bottle of bubbles over some other things kids can get their hands on. Such as a bottle of chocolate sauce being used as finger paint. It has been over a decade and I am still finding chocolate in the nooks and crannies around the house. In my defense, they pulled this particular stunt in the very early morning before I woke up.
I’m surprised more of the cats aren’t into popping them. Again I wonder about the geography of the BPH, as I imagine the whimsical anarchy is spreading quite a bit to reach from the nursery to the red couch.
One of PJ‘s (many) brilliant moves as a toy store manager involved bubbles. His restock orders always involved caseloads of bottles of bubbles, & his boss finally noticed & asked him what was up with that. It turned out that he’d set up displays of bubbles at every checkout line, & parents who’d come in with their kids to buy, say, a birthday present for a kid’s friend would pick up bottles of bubbles so their own kids wouldn’t walk out of the store empty-handed, or as an inexpensive reward for good behavior there (which PJ & his staff greatly appreciated). So bottles of bubbles flew off the racks. PJ also explained that since the bottles cost 19¢ wholesale & sold for 59¢, they were probably the most profitable item in the store!
I just caught up on all of the past lore. Started last weekend and just now got to where I started (The people are away house party and Heck for the Bell Tusselmania from about this time last year). Now I know what people are talking about with respect to ghost cats. Greetings from my ginger Sam and gray tabby Stormy.

The Woman does not seem at all upset, but rather enjoys it. Poor Puck, thinks he is in trouble. He really is not.

Kids forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles without care,
They float around, without a sound,
Filled with air so bouncy round.
Lupin finds them inviting,
And now he’s everywhere,
He’s forever bubble trouble,
Popping bubbles in the air.

I’m forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air,
They fly so high,
Nearly reach the sky,
Then like my dreams
They fade and die.
Fortune’s always hiding,
I’ve looked everywhere,
I’m forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.
When shadows creep,
When I’m asleep,
To lands of hope I stray!
I’m forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air,
They fly so high,
Nearly reach the sky,
Then like my dreams
They fade and die.
Fortune’s always hiding,
I’ve looked everywhere,
I’m forever blowing bubbles,
Pretty bubbles in the air.

Just be sure to clean the floor afterwards, if it’s not carpeted. Soap bubbles leave slippery residue.

I’m forever blowing bubbles
Which spells trouble for my cats.
The flying soap
Causes them to mope,
And then they scream:
“You dope! HARD NOPE!”
Bath-time is nearing,
Cats smell it in the air —
I’m forever blowing bubbles

Being a scientist, one fun thing we did in the lab was squirt soap on dry ice and add hot water. BIG soap bubbles filled with dry ice – smoky bubbles.
