I missed posting yesterday because I lost power in my RV. When I went to the circuit breaker box, I found the power cord on fire! I unplugged the cable and then doused it with the garden hose. Damage to the trailer was minimal, limited to the connector that held the power cord. But the connector, power cord, and surge protector were all burned beyond salvaging. It happened late Monday afternoon so I couldn’t get anyone to come out immediately, but I got someone there to repair it the next morning. Fortunately I have a window AC on a separate circuit so it was able to keep a small section (my recliner) cool enough for me to spend the night there (I would have gone to the park clubhouse to sleep but I wanted to stay around in case there were any other electrical problems). The rest of the trailer was above 120 degrees F (50 degrees C) because, well, Arizona. All is fixed now and my jokes can continue…
So, it appears to be Natasha and Agnes doing this. We saw probably Alice yesterday, and are assuming Violet (the explosives expert) is still on the roof.
Your friends came for you when you needed them. Now they need your help. It’s going to require teamwork to get everybody back home where they belong. You’ve got this, Sophie. And we’ve got you!
In my mind it plays out like this. Sophie says Destry? Play “TVII” by Ministry. Volume, 11! On a loop. Cause you know Sophie is down with Spinal Tap. And the kind of rage in that particular song is building in our sweet Sophie. Even though it has a bit of swearing in it. LOL
I imagine the boys and one rather intense Tortie are watching all of this on Burt’s pirated feed. In my mind, I see them physically restraining Ora Zella to keep her from running out and joining the fray.
Sophititi: Oh, dear! I should have seen the food fight coming!
Sidewalk: Don’t worry. We’ll have this sorted out in no time.
Soph: And here’s Louie-Nour. Sorry to startle you, Louie.
Louie: Not at all. I knew when Ora Zed and food were involved a food fight was inevitable. I brought Baba-Stet’s enchanted broom family. You remember Broom-Sweepa, her husband Bristle, and their son Whisk.
Soph: Of course! Nice to see you again.
Broom-Sweepa: The pleasure is ours. Whisk, why don’t you play some games with the kittens while your father and I sweep up this food. There must have been some lovely donut fashions.
Sidewalk: And they were delicious, too.
Bristle: I’d bet some cinnamon and other condiments would have added to the flavor.
Soph: Yes. Maybe Sidewalk and I will make a shopping trip to Amon-Merchant and Azibo’s Spice Plural shop. I’m find out when Violet-Ifa can come along for the bargaining.
Broom: Sounds like a plan. Now to set this auditorium to rights.
Sophie, scream as hysterically as you did when the cricket startled you. Scream, yowl, hiss, hurl yourself at the sides of the cage…you catch my drift, don’t you?
I came to BCN here on GoComics in January of this year, having seen it referred to in comments on so many other strips that I just had to check it out. Now I can say that I am completely up to date! I have read every BCN here on GC, and every available book! (Can’t wait for Good As Goldie.) I have completely fallen in love with this crew, and Georgia is just plain brilliant. Great mix of ordinary crazy and cozy days, wild crazy and silly adventures, soap opera, a bit of backstory, sweetness and fun.
I was sad to see that along the way the real-life Lupin, Tommy, Beatrix, Figaro and Trevor are no longer with us, and that Georgia and her Man are no longer together.
I am Wendy, from Clovis CA. I’m a librarian with Fresno County Library. My husband is a security guard; he’s currently in a slow recovery from triple bypass surgery he had in March. Our son is 20 and in the culinary program at the local community college—it’s great to have a resident chef at home!
My fandoms include Star Trek, Babylon 5 (see my username), Outlander, Red Dwarf, Bridgerton, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Survivor, Amazing Race, and the Betsy-Tacy book series. Favorite comics include For Better or for Worse, JumpStart, Phoebe and her Unicorn, Calvin and Hobbes, Zits, and Baby Blues (and many more!) I have been involved in the family of Freemasonry for almost 50 years—I am a member of Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile (Play piano for both) and also involved as an adult advisor for our local Job’s Daughters.
OT it’s been an eventful 4 weeks here. 4 weeks ago tomorrow I went to a local bar to play Xtreme Bar Bingo. I went up to the podium to get my cards and dauber. Noticed on the TV they had Flo Racing channel on. They were showing IRA races in Indiana. I know a lot of the drivers so I watched for a little bit. Sure enough one of my friends is shown pushing off a car. I of course got excited. I then turned around to heads to the bar for a soda, Didn’t realize I was that close to the stage. Down I went. Broke my right shoulder. About that time my Dr. had put me on a higher dose of Ozempic. This was causing vomiting and diarrhea. Sunday I did not take it and waited to call the Dr. Well now all that vomotting and diarrhea caused dehydration. Plus the Ozempic worked too good and my sugars dropped below 60. The dehydration an low sugars put me in the ER. last night. They gave me IV fluids and sent m3e home. Then this morning I got up and collapsed. Luckily my neighbor heard me and called 911. So off to the ER again. They took x-ray of my knee to make sure it was OK. It just has a major gash. Gave me more fluids, but this time had me eat 2 graham crackers, and a bag of Goldfish. And drink 3 apple juices. Blood sugar was 147 when I left. Feel much better and the key word is EAT! Even got a showered in to wash all the blood from my knee. Surprisingly the shoulder feels fine. Just can’t use it yet

Chin up Sophie. Courage is not a lack of fear. Courage is being afraid and still doing what you know needs to be done.

The fact that Sophie left a paw on her blind eye in panel 4 makes me think the eye is starting to hurt without her medication.

Aww, I love Agnes comforting Sophie in panel 3.

Mozart: The Queen of the Night’s Vengeance Aria
The vengeance of Heck boils in my heart!
Doom and Gloom are around me!
If you don’t let me out of this Darned carrier!
The pain of glitter
Sprinkled on your pristine white furniture!
Vacuuming you will be doing forever!
Redecorating you will be doing forever!
New carpet you will need!
If this warning you do not heed!
If the lyrics do not quite fit the tune
Remember they were originally German!
May Cat bring on many curses
If my warning you do not heed!

Can’t blame Sophie for being scared, but she will do what needs to be done. Hopefully one rescue will lead smoothly to the other.
