Glad to see I’m not the only one who prefers to stay at home on Black Friday and eat leftovers. (Even though I ate at a restaurant on Thanksgiving, the portions were so generous that I brought home enough for another meal.)
We had a lovely time at the Community Thanksgiving but it was disappointing that the drive through takeout reservations still out numbered the eat in ones. Part of the whole purpose is fellowship.
Close up on final panel: The Girl’s tiny baby hand on her dad’s arm, a Lupin paw sneaking in from the right, and – what is that appendage coming down and around Puck?
Sandwiches, pie, and board games – sounds good! I slept in and had a leftovers sandwich for brunch, and later my mom and I are going to the movies. The Black Friday rush is dead and good riddance!
It’s been a while since I played board games, but I still like jigsaw puzzles. My hand down favorite puzzle of all times is a wooden one made Artifact Puzzles. It’s called “It’s My Party” and there are lots of whimsy cutout shapes which, when assembled together, creates a scene from a monster movie. So delightful!
I had to go out early this morning and have air put in the tires since the weather got cold. Then pick up J-L so he could get a case for his new phone. Wild thing is, Walmart wasn’t crowded. Neither was the grocery store or the other Walmart. It took going to both Walmarts because the first one didn’t have an electric turkey roaster. I wish I could afford to get a new stove but it came down to either a new washer or a new stove. I already have a microconvection air frier and a hot plate so the washer will be in on Monday. Maybe I can afford a new stove in a year or two.
At least the turkey should be done in an hour or so.
We feasted yesterday and all had their fill of Turkey, we had turkey sandwiches for brunch.Wasn’t planning to go out, but I need to go to the dispensary for B. They were having a Black Friday sale at 25% off everything. So i ended up having to make 2 trips to take advantage of the sale. They aren’t allowed to advertise in my state, which is screwed up. I would have put aside more money. I did take advantage of one Sale, at WM, and scored a toaster oven/air fryer combo for $50. It cooks circles around our venerable Oster and holds much more. I really hate to replace a still working appliance, but I couldn’t resist.
Just did my regular shopping today, after most of the madness slowed down. Love Lupin and one of the robber mice taking beans……(and Lupin wearing a mask)

But, Puck, didn’t you once present us with a chart showing the cultivation of cardboard boxes?

Not sure there was ever a Thanksgiving in my family when my three brothers and I noticed any leftover pie the next day.

If I didn’t have to pick up a prescription today, I wouldn’t go out. Luckily I can take the back streets & avoid most of the traffic.
