You know it’s going to be cold when it’s a six cat night.

Six cats in harmony on one bed and a human! Magic!

…she will never be allowed to move again.

My nightly routine is much simpler. Get up and check to make sure the front door is locked and the stove burners off (note: this has no relation to my actually having used the stove) at least elebenty-seven times before sleeping.

This is 100% related to the strip as I am fairly sure my OCD was brought to me by toxo! and the many kitties we had when I was younger.

(Editor’s note: so worth it!)

Goldie has it right. Go to sleep. Go straight to sleep. Remember to brush teeth before getting into bed…

Sunday Funday

I always enjoy seeing Elvis reading the paper before bed. :-)

We had to simplify our night routines because our cats would pin us once we got in bed. Random was 19 lbs. The others were around 15. They also controlled local gravity.

Elvis reads the newspaper before going to bed? That’s the wrong time! Read the news in the morning. The resultant outrage will fire you up for the day.

At night you need something relaxing and quiet. Spinoza*, Heidegger, or P. G. Wodehouse.

(*Don’t call him “Baruch”. It’s an insult. He chose and used the name “Benedict”, and was usually referred to by that name until recently. “Baruch” is the name by which he was cursed, reviled, and cast out by the rabbis.

He was a very substantial Dutchman.)

Why is she saying goodnight neverland? When we fall asleep, aren’t we off to never never land?

I absolutely love it when one of the cats loafs in their jammies!

Oh what a wonderful bedtime!!! Just like me but I only have one cat!!!

So, where does “the Man” sleep?

This is a clip-and-keep strip for sure. The artist has depicted my routine perfectly, right down to the 6 cats. I love it!!

I’d be brushing my teeth before getting into bed to journal. Knowing me, I’d fall asleep mid-sentence & then my teeth wouldn’t be brushed. If I don’t brush before falling asleep, I have nightmares that my teeth are rotting & falling out of my mouth. Yikes

What is the significance of “Good night, Neverland?”

I give up. Now, I can’t read replies to the comments. I’ll try again tomorrow. Very frustrated.

Ay yes, just like my wife, totally disorganized routine at bedtime. It would be so simple and logical to 1. brush teeth, 2. skin care routine, that way you can apply lotion to your limbs and feet as well, 3. nightgown, 4. fuzzy socks, 5 journaling, and 6. SLEEP!

I have a hideously complex and overwrought routine for bedtime:

[bro] my nightly routine is this. 1: put pajamas on. 2: brush teeth. 3: do waterpik. 4: get into bed. 5: draw cartoon characters of my own making. 6: turn the light off at 9:00. 7: stay awake until 11:20 because I share a room with my little brother.

What’s happened to her husband? I haven’t seen him in a long time.

“Madam, I’m the comfiest I’ve ever been.” Love it!

She should brush her teeth before she gets in bed, and then stay there. My late boy would wait patiently until I had settled, and then take his place on top of me. My current cat thinks I move too much.

Telling her cats not to get comfy is like telling a bird not to chirp.

When Bart was a little cat (who am I kidding, Bart was never little), he would routinely lick the lotion off my hands at bedtime. I had to stop using it until he got out of the habit.

With six cats generating it, the snoozon flux must be incredible!

Our cat prefers my wife to me. Every now and then she sits on me but it’s nowhere near daily. It’s only fair. I was the Preferred Human to the previous two generations.

Have I mentioned how much Database and Update love my electric blanket?

Under a blanket of cats- perfect way to sleep!!!

Swap tooth brushing with journaling and we can all stay comfy.

I just love all the cozy pajamas and Elvis’s glasses.

Our cat must be broken; he doesn’t sleep in the bedroom with us. He prefers to sleep on the top platform of his cat tree most of the time.

As if cats slept at night.
