I like the dwarves’ motto in Terry Pratchett’s Discworld:

“Today is a good day for someone else to die.”

    Practical, that is.

Reminds me of Gary Lawson’s “Far Side” cartoon which depicted a horse doctor reading his medical symptoms book. Each malady had the same recommended action: “Shoot.”

I’ve always been fond of saying, “Yah, but tomorrow is a better day to die — or the next day maybe — can we pencil in Tuesday next? How’s July looking for you?”

Altho I admit, as a battle cry, it doesn’t sport quite the same “punch” … … …

That’s a great picture of a Klingon, and the horoscopes are right on.

Now I’m off for a nice, fresh bowl of Gach.

If I ever have to fight a Klingon, I’ll remind him it’s a good day for him to die.

Several years ago, I walked past a group of our admins chatting at lunch hour about horoscopes. One of them asked, “Ray, what’s your sign?” I don’t believe in astrology, so I just said, “I’m not gonna say.” She said, “You must be an Aquarius.” She was right. AAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!! I still don’t believe in it though.

Actually, this strip makes a good point. Horoscopes only apply to you given the specific constellation in the sky for that day (i.e. – for your position on your home planet, relative to the stars visible at that time slice of the planet’s orbit around its sun.) From the R.U. Sirius’ vantage point, they’re all visible simultaneously, so they all apply. Conversely, information can’t travel faster than the speed of light, so none of the Klingon constellations are visible yet, none none of the horoscopes apply.
