I like the old ones better, that had each letter as a separate piece of chrome on the hood. Surprising how common ORDs were.

Some friends got rear ended by a hit & run. Part of the front plate on the car in back was imprinted on the rear bumper of their car. A little detective work, and arrests were made.
Did Ford pay for the product placement? How about Doc Ford? Betty Ford? Broomie can’t afford to do this very often.
It certainly left an impression.
If she had gotten out of the way, it would have been a Dodge. But since it hit her, it’s obviously a Ram.

I had three and two of those are among my best, longest running vehicles. I had a ‘69 Maverick (’70 model) and an ’87 Mustang. The latter I owned for 24 years.
DODGE is a suggestion when it’s coming up behind you because RAM is what the redneck driver has in mind.
The one Ford product I remember in my lifetime was the ‘60 Falcon that nearly caught fire on its first intended long trip; before we’d even cleared Chicagoland, it was smoking. And it had to be towed.
(Much later on, we had a Mercury, in the ’80s, which was okay. Technically not a Ford.)
