It’s a sad, sad, sad,…..world.
Awww Buckles I’d love it if you come live with me but I have 3 cats who would take a very dim view of that. And we can’t have you eating out of the trash can or drinking out of the terlit or chewing stuff up. But I still love you.
All of the images of the lovable Buckles today are just precious , I’m not going to pick out one because of the terrific way that David has depicted him . The last one is just heart wrenching , poor little Buckles . : (
Buckles—in the last panel—-is absolutely right. I wish some dog owners who are neglectful and even inhumane could really understand that.
And I find it kinda funny/I find it kinda sad/The dreams in which I’m dying/Are the best I’ve ever had/I find it hard to tell you/I find it hard to take/When people run in circles/It’s a very, very Mad World, Mad World.
Breaks my heart. I know it is only a comic but so many dogs are so neglected and dogs give so much love for so little: a dish of food and water.
Today’s strip reminds me of the old proverb about “Little pitchers”… If you happen to live with a comic strip pet who understands everything you say, remember that: “Little dogs have big ears”.
Buckles is a well-loved dog and will likely be reminded of that soon. So many dogs are not, and they deserve better. Mine is, as always, right in reach in case I decide to pet her during her daily 14-hour nap.
That’s what makes dogs the best animals to have around….
I hope this arc doesn’t go on for very long. It’s breaking my heart.
Time for a flea dip!
