Advice I got from my stepdad 55 years ago.
But most of the time you get told to do it over again.
That’s right, but what is it, when you want to do your job and you like your job and you are not able to do it better!?
Calvin, since today is Saturday, you’ll have plenty of time to do it again.
I’m surprised a 6-year-old woud be expected t do job like that without adlt help.
There is several chores around here that I feel this way about But Calvin dose it so much better ,I just dream about doing so bad.
or, don’t shovel it, let nature take of it. or, don’t shovel it, use chemicals to melt away the snow and ice. or, move to a warmer location like guam.
Hobbes looks shocked at Calvins statement .
That only works when you’re old enough to get married, Calvin.
My husband thinks this works. He’ll eventually figure out that it’s a lot easier to just do it right, which he IS able to do.
Sometimes you get ordered to do it over and over until you get it right.
Then how did Obama get re-elected?
O so true!
Curiously you don’t quite get it. That is exactly his point.
have a job .. have a good our life………..
You just didn’t do a bad enough job of it to make them believe you’d never get it right.
He put a lot of efford into it.
As at least two others have commented, “that doesn’t work when your job is government/politician”.
Do you people realize you’re talking to a comic strip?
Because of this philosophy, you get FIRED!
Words to live by!
Seems to me you could use your leaf blower if you do it early enough while it’s still coming down and not let it land on your walkway in the first place.. Always wanted to try that.——never did….Hummmm
Doesn’t seem to work that way with Congress.
My son tried that one on me in the 80’s. Didn’t work for him, either.
“Detour!” – Patti Page (who recently passed away)
Thats how I got out of doing the leaves while growing up
…yeah, i could see your last line coming a mile away…
Doesn’t work for me. My parents just make me go back and do it over.
Luckily I have no snow.
When I was about 12, I deliberately tried to get out of drying dishes by putting the siverware any ol’ place. But my mother threatened to make me wash and dry the dishes if I did that again.
Calvin: 6 years old and already he knows (or at least thinks he knows) how to “game the system” to his advantage regarding his chores! ;-)
That was a real SNOW JOB.
good comments. Calvin ur not as smart as u think u are but u are funny. I like u but would never hire u.
If there were a snow shoveling event in the Winter Olympics, Calvin would be a Gold medalist, not to mention in the snowmen making event….
I’d drag your butt back to the woodshed and give ya a good switchin’………….
It only works if they believe it was true incompetence. This is too obviously deliberate.
Don’t be too sure about it.
He went to a lot more work than if he had done it right. Now, once he shovels over to the driveway and gets the piles out of the way, he’ll be done.
Hahaha that’s so true Calvin. You’re a wise 5 year old!
Yesterday’s and today’s are absolute masterpieces! I can hardly type this because I’m still laughing so hard!

One time my dad asked my brother to fold his laundry, and my brother folded it so badly that it had wrinkles, and my dad said he’s never folding his laundry again.
