Don’t worry, Calvin, it’s just another appreciative audience member.
I think that’s Hobbes calling out for Calvin’s mother from under the blanket; it’s the tall lump.
And the award for most dangerous shadow puppetry goes too…
It’s a Zorkon.
Monsters are real
And the ravenous bug blatter beast of Traal wonders how its prey can keep disappearing like that
I have no idea of when this specific strip falls in the C & H chronology. And I love panel three. But in panel three Hobbes’s tail and fur is not all flared out. It became customary at some point in the strip, whenever Hobbes was startled, to draw him that way.
Yup! Mommy – the recognised monster slayer.
The intrepid Spaceman Spiff wants his mommy.
Nice height on the jump, guys!
Okay, you have to admit, that was a scary shadow. I wonder how he did it?
The impervious sheet of invisibility, first line of defense.
This one will always be one of my favourites. It will never not make me laugh.
Wait until you see the shadow of a tired mother holding a slipper…
Your dad in costume messing with you, Calvin?
Its always MOM, NEVER dad!!!
There are blind people with no fingers that are better at shadow puppets than me.
Calvin should be thankful he never met Bloom County’s “Snorklewhacker”! ;)
Nice going, Maurice.
Just Dad, in his REAL form!
Gotta love it!
Its never daddy, how sexist!
They call MOM because they know dad would probably be just as frightened
Calvin actually has five fingers in the first panel. Unheard of for comic characters!
There may be something to Calvin’s fear of the monsters under his bed.
