Yup, it seems to me that everyone I know wants to have an adventure but doesn’t want any adventures thrust upon them. “To boldly go”, when I’m dam good and ready.
The Lovely & Charming Mrs. Cowboy is like that; trying to get Her into a restaurant She’s never tried before is like trying to get Trump to tell the truth.
I’ve had a bad habit of being like this, and I’ve tried to break it. A few weeks ago I ordered from someplace new (a street-taco place) and… well, I didn’t really like it. It was worth the try, though.
I’m sure many here remember when Calvin’s dad told him that he was smart not to eat his dinner, as it was really radioactive waste that would turn him into a mutant. Naturally the reverse psychology worked, and Calvin scarfed it down. But you can only pull that trick on your kid once.

To boldly eat what no kid has eaten…before.

To a kid’s eyes, any food that is green is to be treated with great caution and at one’s own risk.

Calvin always healthy. I do think his mom is poisoning him. But kiddos can be picky eaters.

Definitely one of the funniest classics! And it doesn’t help that the Mom’s cooking often looks like green slime, anyway!

As a picky eater growing up, I can relate. Dad would say, “He’s afraid he’ll like it.”
That wasn’t the case at all.

If you never eat food you’ve never had before, you’ll be subsisting on breast milk your whole life.
