The studios use movies like that as a tax write-off, but that’s an adult situation Calvin wouldn’t understand.
Doesn’t Calvin already know about Adult situations? Like when he smokes as Tracer Bullet?
Ironically, I think that kind of stuff in media is more “adult” than the sex, swearing, and other raunch you see in typical R-rated comedies like Seth Rogen movies.
Put on your fake mustache and go have a look…..
No one will be seated during the final minutes of the mortgage application process!
In fact, the behavior depicted in “adult movies” requires at least a somewhat mature body, but mostly darn juvenile mentality.
Just as well……
More like very bad language and violence and nudity
Insurance, car registration, fixing the plumbing, job interviews … all that R18+ stuff.
Snap! I just found myself explaining to someone here in S. Europe (English not his first language) what an “adult film star” is.
Nice to see such innocence.
Make money? They can’t even afford cloths for the actors!
Back when there were newspapers, when kids saw things like that about movies they went in by the score.
I remember once when I was about 6 years old. My mom & I were walking along Main Street when we passed the movie theatre. There was a poster for an animated movie, and the characters were all cats. I love animated movies & cats, so I asked my mother (a movie-lover) if we could go see it. I was confused that she would say no, that this was a “grown-up” movie. The title: “Fritz the Cat” (Google it)
And you’re probably better off not understanding, Hobbes!
They make millions…only if it does have Adult-Stuff….☹️
Made me remember Art Linkletter.
Some Adulting is more fun than other Adulting.
I can remember when movies didn’t have any ratings!
LOL… Sex ! Where’s the sex??
What adults often learn the hard way: stay seated until this ride comes to a complete stop, and your safety can’t be guaranteed.
I remember (looong ago) getting a call selling a Penthouse subscription. I told him Penthouse was just too mild…
The evening news should berated at least R for violence.
Don’t even get me started on a book that has everything from slavery to violence to sex to genocide: it’s called The Bible. Mostly the Old Testament, but even the New Testament features the gruesome death of the protagonist.
Responsibility is sadly overrated.
The US is still a Victorian country where nudity is not allowed on TV but the most horrible violence is. And they wonder why we have mass shootings
The first adult film I ever saw was about girls playing voleyball.
it irks me a bit that everything rotten is labeled “adult”
Another of my favorites! It’s just such a kid perspective.
I’ve always found it odd that they’re called “mature audiences” when consuming unrestricted sex, gore, and profanity are about as immature as you can get
Yep, paying taxes, working, responsibilities but nude. :)
Hobbes is usually shown as much more worldly and in the know than this. Unless he’s messing with Calvin?
Looking for movie information in a newspaper???
Sometimes I still wish I was young enough to think this is what that meant…
Heh, a movie like that would definitely bore Calvin! It may as well be a movie about real life…
what inquisitive minds you have, Calvin an dHobbes
Hobbes favorite movie is Revenge of The Tiger starring Claude Bahlls.
