Man, I slip into the shower when my husband is taking one. He always has the water much hotter than me-I swear sometimes I will come out with 1st degree burns. He on the other hand thinks he will suffer frostbite.

By the time he gets back up there, it will probably have cooled off enough to just get in. Unless his Mom really is an alien from Saturn who is trying to cook him to eat.

Those western horizontal tubs cool down pretty quick, compared to the upright tubs in Japan…

Is Calvin old enough to take a bath unsupervised??

Water disaster…….

I sometimes let the bath get too hot when I turn on only the hot water. I usually tolerate it up to 43º.

I sometimes let the water get too hot before I get in the tub. I can tolerate it to 40º before I add cold water. Usually it cools quickly just from the difference in the temperature of the room.

Wet popcorn. Ew, David.

You would think a responsible mother would walk 20’ to bathroom to check the water and if needed adjust the temperature instead of trusting Calvin.

Calvin will have a new name when he wants to play cowboys…The Parboiled Kid.

Live and learn, Calvin…by now you should know to test the temp, before getting in.

Sort of like, what I imagine, a piece of corn going into caramel feels like. I haven’t had any good caramel corn in years. I mean real cream and sugar caramel, all ooey and gooey and sticky. Cracker Jacks just don’t get it.

Calvin, boiled pop corn won’t pop.When it does pop it’s because heating forces the air in the kernel to expand.Now, go finish your bath, or I’ll force another science lecture upon you.

I have an acquaintance that uses a thermometer. Yea, I know, but at my age acquaintances are few and far between.

For once, Calvin’s mom is wrong. There are a number of grains that can do that, including sorghum, amaranth and buckwheat.

I think you need oil to achieve that anyway.

Isn’t Calvin a bit young to be in the tub without supervision?

LOL… Popcorn in the bath??? Calvin is weird, for sure.

Heh, imagine if you could make popcorn by boiling the corn kernels in hot water?

I think you could do that with humans. It would have to be a temperature below the flash point but high enough to create steam quickly. We’re 80% water or something like that. It probably would require experimentation. Low air pressure might help.

As a kid, I used to have no idea what I was looking at here.

My ex likes her showers hot. I’m a like warm type of guy. I used to let her shower first because I would be less upset if the hot water ran out.

Put your hands in the water. If you get in a tub and it’s too hot (assuming it’s not actually scalding), put your hands in the water and it will feel cooler on the rest of your body.
