Today’s strip reminds me of a later story arc in which Susie tells Calvin about how she goes about her homework. Calvin gasps, “You do all that work?!” Susie replies, “Of course.” Calvin says, “Huh! I thought you were smart!”

Susie is the best, that third panel….HA HA HA!!!

Suzie is truly sharp. She knew to reverse the paper so the message could be read as written. She also knew it was phony and has made plans to handle the deal. Once again she proves that old bumper sticker saying – when God made man first she was only kidding!

For some, this is a drama. For some, a comedy. I wonder if Hobbes would have made a good minion?

Actually the contrivances they’re going through on this one really are a hoot.

Susie didn’t fall off the turnip truck yesterday.

Gosh, Susie, I can’t believe you’re falling for Calvin’s perfectly planned trap!

Susie will anticipate the water balloons and counter the attack!

Calvin will never out smart her!

What a gulla-bull. (Calvin that is)

All she has to do to spoil his plan now is not show up.

Heh, at Fan Expo Boston this year I told Tara Strong that if “Calvin and Hobbes” had a voice case, she’d be a good choice for voicing Susie Derkins! She said I’d probably make a good casting director.

I love her expression in the third panel. “Does he really think I’m that stupid?”

All I can think of after seeing this, is Wile E. Coyote saying “Wile E. Coyote, Suuper genius”.

Susie is playing Calvin like a drum…. LOL

Panel three is one of the best panels in the strip’s run. So versatile.

Do these two get married in the future?

I love Susie! What diabolical thing will she do to outsmart Calvin (AGAIN)?

Susie’s facial expressions, especially in panel 3, are excellent!
