As someone who hates mosquitoes and wasps, I’m with Calvin.

Calvin is unaware that some bugs are beneficial, and an important part of the ecosystem.

Sorry Cal, but being from North Dakota, we would have temps below -50, not a bug could be seen, but as soon as it warmed up, there they were, flying around and doin’ their thing. You can’t freeze em out, for sure. But at least you don’t have them coming in the moment you open your door!

As entomologists will point out, winter is nature’s greatest insecticide.

Fall is my favorite time of year, too.

I see Calvin has his Pac-Man profile again. He looks like a PEZ dispenser.

Any season (except winter) is fine by me. Having moved upstate in Michigan from the Detroit area over the last 30-so years, I’ve never gotten used to how much more colder it is. There’s about 20 to 30 degrees difference cooler up here than it is south in my birth town. My fingers and toes still get so numb and feel like frostbite every winter; even when wearing new heavily insulated gloves. I don’t mind the snow so much, but the cold is a different story.

I like it when it’s actually fall…you know…around Thanksgiving…

Favorite seasons? Winter, Fall, Spring, Summer. In that order.

Subject doesn’t actually matter. If it’s destructive he’s on it.

I like college football. Unfortunately, I can only get to watch the west coast games because the weather is usually so nice I am out in it until dark.

Hummm. I wonder if it speaks ill of me that I agree, in this respect, and in every way with Calvin on this particular subject? …probably does.

Depends on the bug. Roaches seem to be out all year.

Bug repellent sales are seasonal too.

I remember a Jim Gaffigan bit about watching all the “dying leaves”. My teen daughter absolutely loves his humor. My humor is more along the lines of Carlin and Pryor. Oddly enough, my pastor grew up listening to those “filthy” albums. We Methodists can be weird!

Got news for you, Calvin. There are probably numerous insects living inside your house already. Set some sticky traps under furniture and along baseboards and see how many you collect in just a few days.

Agreed! We can take our daily meander along the walk path and not have the sidewalk moving because of grasshoppers.

I would love to never see another fly or mosquito ever again! I can manage the other bugs.
