Is Calvin also going to put a For Sale sign on the more standard snowman?

That kid’s snowman says, “I’m a good kid who loves helping and doesn’t get in trouble!” So yeah. Of course Calvin wouldn’t understand.

I never seen this strip before but that is a very good drawing of slimer snowman, haha!

I don’t know, that snowman seems pretty marketable.

Calvin’s first snowman definitely elicits ‘For Sale’ signs … On the neighbors’ houses.

Is he selling the actual snowman, or just the design.

Well, now that you mention it…

You just have to market it correctly. It’s a bold, unique snow sculpture, not a snowman.

In this political age, I firmly agree with Calvin’s first snowman. I totally relate to him.

The other kid’s snowman has a shovel. That means he’s building character.

Calvin & Hobbes live in the suburbs? From what I’ve seen of broad woodlands, creeks, and streams, I’d assume they lived in a remote rural wilderness—sort of like the Pattersons in " for Better or For Worse".

Calvin’s first snowman looks like it could have been built by Edvard Munch.

I call it, “The starving artist”….

Once again, Calvin reminds me of the scene in The Sixth Sense where Cole Sears explains to Doctor Crow that he draws rainbows because of the time he drew someone with a screwdriver through his head. “They don’t call Parent-Teacher conferences over drawings of rainbows.”

Yeah! Calvin’s snowmen are back!!

Nice horror sculpture. Calvin’s parents must have served as the models. They have to be the only monsters scary enough for the sculpture to work.

I always liked Calvin’s snow sculptures, the raw creativity of an unfettered young mind, also channeling some of that late 80’s early 90’s gross out energy like Madballs and Garbage Pail Kids

I’m clearly not much of a businessman, as the marketability of snowmen escapes me entirely.

Once again, a kid who can’t add 5 +4 shows a remarkable vocabulary.

Calvin may struggle with basic math, but his command of language cannot be argued.

Interesting comment on what Watterson went through in real life. He didn’t sell out.

Now we’re getting the December strips in November, since they skipped a few and so they are way out of sync with the daily strips.

The standard version snowman is for those who don’t find that much torment in living, and don’t see horror in nonexistence.

No way is Calvin doing something that will earn him a compliment.

Better to be commercial than pretentious.

Bill gives his perspective through the strips sometimes. Now we guess why Bill has been so much against franchising this strip brand. He is a true artist to the core.
