Calvin does have a point, though: Dad’s idea of a “vacation” is always those “character-building” camping trips that both Calvin AND Mom loathe.

This is another comic that shows what Bill was going for with Calvin’s character, he isn’t stupid (after all, he’s only 6) he’s just lazy. Unwilling to put work into anything that doesn’t immediately grasp his interest

Wonder what TV show “is” Calvin’s.

Calvin’s trademark move is spending more time complaining than it would take to actually do the work.

Despite this strip being quite old…it’s worth pointing out that this is a terrific (one of BW’s MANY) vivid illustrations of the boundless attitude of privilege and entitlement embraced by SO many people…

Knowing his father’s proclivity for character-building vacations, I am surprised that Calvin’s family hasn’t been on more desert hikes.

Hobbes’s suggestion was actually good

My friend and I “made” a quicksand thing for a science project, 5th or 6th grade. Just put some sand in a container (probably a Tupperware bowl!) and added some water. Can’t remember, but I doubt it got a good grade.

He sures know how to tell time and that he’s not going to be held accountable.

I guess, that idiot box does show desert many a times. Try to observe between the commercials, will ya!
