How did they get all covered in snow? Rolling off the sled after it caught fire? And how DID it catch fire?? There’s too much snow around for spontaneous combustion!
Some say the world will end in fire,Some say in ice. From what I’ve tasted of desireI hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice,I think I know enough of hateTo say that for destruction iceIs also greatAnd would suffice.
Some say the world will end in fire, // Some say in ice. //From what I’ve tasted of desire //I hold with those who favor fire. //But if it had to perish twice, //I think I know enough of hate //To say that for destruction ice //Is also great //And would suffice. //
That’s kind of the way I want to arrive at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter’s going to ask. “Man, what happened to YOU?” and I’ll reply, “Don’t ask, but it was a great ride.”
You only have one life: get the most out of it as you can. Enjoy people and don’t put much faith in material things. I’ve never seen a hearse towing a U-Hall.
I’ve been around race cars since I was in my teens, fuel fires happen, electric fuel pumps pump that gas out to as much as 50 pounds/inch. Fire – extinguisher in the car and in the work area is a must. Now they have fire blankets, I would keep one in the car. Cleaning up after using a fire extinguisher is not fun, especially back in the days when we had Carburetors.
Intense heat due to friction between the sled, atmospheric oxygen and two warm butts completed the fire triangle. Whatever, the art by Bill is always the best!

Comic timing is something that artists have or they have not. Watterson has it down PAT. Each panel builds on the next and then KaPOW!

I watched a sled burn on the frozen lake in front of my house last Winter. I live in northernmost Maine, and of course it was a sled with a motor.
